Starting my career in the cabinet manufacturing business in 1986, I gained experience working for a premier custom cabinet company in San Diego, California. From there I learned the manufacturing side of the business while working in San Diego for Cabinets Galore. That company remains in business with the same family for decades. I credit my knowledge of the business to Barry Jacobs (AKA: Mr. Cabinets Galore). Barry and I worked together for several years and I greatly value his dedication and strong work ethic.
Cabinet Guy was formed in Palm Desert, California in 2002. I originally started the company manufacturing and installing garage cabinets and closet systems which quickly evolved into building custom kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, entertainment centers and similar projects. After five years of manufacturing in California, I moved back to the Midwest where I am originally from and relocated to Peru, Indiana. As the business grew, my team and I expanded on custom kitchens and bathrooms by reintroducing closet systems and garage cabinets, as well as creating and installing commercial casework for hospitals, schools, and more.
